The 2024 Danish Speedway Individual Final was held this year at the Grindsted track for the first time. Grindsted Speedway Club is situated just outside the town, and the 16 riders taking part this year are listed below.
The meeting was held in sunny weather, with the club being fortunate that the track itself escaped the worst of the rain that was sweeping the nearby area. Despite the uncertain afternoon weather, the evening was warm and more than 3,200 people witnessed a fierce battle to determine who would be crowned Danish Champion for 2024.
The meeting favourites of Mikkel Michelsen and Michael Jepsen Jensen started strongly, and there were also good perfomances from Anders Thomsen, Rasmus Jensen and additionally young Bastian Pedersen surprised many with a very spirited show.
After twenty heats, the top 4 progressed to the final. They were Michael Jepsen Jensen, Rasmus Jensen, Anders Thomsen and Mikkel Michelsen. In the first running of the final Rasmus Jensen went for a gap coming out of turn 4 on the first lap and Mikkel Michelsen went down. The referee excluded Rasmus, and in the rerun, Anders Thomsen made no mistake to snatch first place and the title after a two year break. Michael Jepsen Jensen got the silver medal and Mikkel Michelsen won bronze. Full results are below the photographs..
